"Doublespeak" William D. Lutz is the first book that comes to mind.

I swear this digital self I'm discovering is getting more and more tuned to my actual self, and it's a weird and offputting thing. Nothing wrong with it per se, but it's unsettling to have such reassurance where there used to be aggressive disorienting stimuli.
